This European seminar will welcome 66 young people in Alsace in Mulhouse and Colmar from November 11 to 14th of 2009: 7 delegations, each composed of 6 young people coming from twin-cities of
Mulhouse [Chemnitz (Germany), Walsall (United Kingdom), Kassel (Germany), Timisoara (Romania)], from the Powiat of Wroclaw (Poland) as a partner of the Conseil Général du Haut-Rhin, and from
twin-cities of Chemnitz [Lodz (Poland) and Usti nad Labem (Czech Republic)], as well as 24 Mulhousians. These young participants belong to youth representation institutions or are involved in
reflexions and citizenship actions.
During this seminary, the young people will discuss about their life in their city considering three themes they have chosen: Europe and expression modes nowadays, sustainable development and
living better together. These three themes are linked and corresponding to the european subjects of creativity and innovation, fight against climate change and intercultural dialogue. The
discussions will be based on the realities and experiences of each participant and will lead to concrete propositions which will be submitted to political deciders.
In order to encourage successful debates, intercultural techniques will be largely used. Important moments will reinforce the discussions : meeting with elected deputies of the Conseil Général, the
City and the Agglomération as well as visits and activities linked with working themes.
